Chicago Beer Pass: Live From Temperance

image

Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago.

This week Brad Chmielewski & Nik White took Chicago Beer Pass on the road. We headed up to Evanston, Illinois to visit and record at Temperance Beer Co. and for the first time we have a special guest on the show with us. In this episode Brewmaster Claudia Jendron joins Brad & Nik to talk about her beer and some Temperance events. Being at Temperance it’s only fitting we enjoy one of their tasty offerings. Claudia pours us all a pint of Smittytown, their 5.8% year round ESB.

Brad & Nik chat about their past week, the great time they both had at Mid Sommerfest in Andersonville and how a few glogg slushies can knock you on your ass.  Nik also shares a bit about his experience at the Slow Food Chicago Annual Pig Roast at the Goose Island Barrel Warehouse.

Backing up a few weeks, Brad & Nik ask Claudia about the “When Life Gives You Melons” beer where 35 women from 13 breweries as well brewpubs, beer stores, distributors and educators came together for a brew day.

Just because Chicago Beer Pass is on the road that’s no reason to skip talking about the events that are coming up this week. Father’s day is this Sunday so make sure to take your dads to one of these great events. On Saturday, June 14th there are two great events, Fire Brews and Bites at Carmichaels Steakhouse and then Lombard Ale Fest at the Lombard Metra Station. There are others but you’ll have to listen to learn about them all.

Thanks for listening to Chicago Beer Pass. Cheers!

Chicago Beer Pass: The Unusual

image

Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago.

This past week Brad Chmielewski & Nik White took a bit of a break after the craziness that was Chicago Craft Beer Week but there is still plenty to talk about. To kick things off Brad & Nik open a couple bottles of Two Brothers Domaine Dupage. Now that neighborhood street festival season is here it’s hard not to talk about at least one fest each week. Do Division was this past weekend in Wicker Park and it sounds like it was a blast; Nik stopped in for a bit to check it out and have a beer. When you can’t make it to a special event or festival there are still plenty of craft beer spots in the city to visit. Brad makes it over to Links and Kaiser Tiger for a few pints and a couple expensive hot dogs.

Get your calendars ready because there are some fun events this next week. June 6th at Fischmans is Kegs For Kidneys; what’s better than drinking for a good cause? Then on Sunday at Haymarket is CRAFT - A Craft Beer Documentary Screening that sounds really interesting and for only $10 is worth checking out. Finally next week is the Hendrick’s Emporium of the Unusual, that sounds well unusual… All that and more on this weeks episode of Chicago Beer Pass. Cheers!

Welcome to the Chicago Beer Pass: Your ticket to all the great beer events happening in and around Chicago.

Since the last recording, Brad and Nik chat about Bowling With The Brewers, a booze cruise and the closing celebration at West Loop Craft Beer Festival.

It’s a bit of a quiet week and weekend coming up, it seems like everyone is laying low after the past 11 days. We do manage to find a few events that are worth checking out. Thursday, May 29th at Fischmans Liquors is Tap This FFF Takeover 2. Then this weekend in Aurora at River Edge Park is the Wisconsin Beer and Cheese Tour. The Wisconsin Beer and Cheese Tour will offer an impressive array of Wisconsin beer, delectable artisan cheeses, specialty sausages, and other signature foods from the Badger state.
